Context
Hosel needed to develop a golf community platform that would simplify course discovery and booking while fostering meaningful connections between players of varying skill levels. The challenge was to create an engaging proof of concept that could validate core features and demonstrate scalability.
Role & objectives
As UX Designer, I needed to:
- Design and validate core features through user research
- Create an effective landing page for user acquisition
- Develop community engagement features that drive retention
- Balance technical constraints with business objectives
- Manage operational aspects including domain and platform costs
Approach
Led end-to-end product design process:
- Conducted comprehensive user research to understand diverse golfer needs and behaviours
- Created and tested wireframes for key features including score logging, match arrangement, and community engagement
- Designed conversion-focused landing page with clear value proposition
- Implemented gamification elements to drive engagement (playing streaks, statistics)
- Collaborated with stakeholders to align design decisions with business metrics
